The level of demand for electricity is never constant. Every time we turn the lights on or off, we increase or decrease the electricity demand on the grid.

Renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, sometimes generate more electricity than required at a given time. Instead of wasting this green energy, it can be stored using battery storage systems and then released later when needed. Battery storage systems also contribute to stabilising the grid.
